Punjabi MC at Kennedy Center

This weekend was the end of the Kennedy Center’s Maximum India festival.      At the end of the festival was a free concert by Punjabi MC.      Punjabi MC is DJ who mixes traditional Indian rhythms with hip hop and r&b backgrounds.       His big hit was in 2002 “Beware of the Boys” which got even bigger when Jay-Z rapped over it.       The show was great.      It was an hour and a half of people from all races and ages dancing.       The surprising thing was the many elderly people I saw enjoying the show.      It was like they were there for the other cultural items from the Maximum India weekend, stumbled upon the show and ended up enjoying it.
